Requirements

Graduated from a Top 50 University (or equivalent academic background with exceptional writing and communication skills)

Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple students, and meet deadlines without close oversight

Experience in college admissions or academic advising, such as former admissions officers, private counselors, essay editors, or peer mentors

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to provide thoughtful, empathetic feedback and build trust with students and families

Collaborative mindset, open to training, mentorship, and contributing to a team committed to continuous growth and high standards
Responsibilities

Provide strategic, personalized guidance to students throughout the college admissions process

Support students in building strong academic, extracurricular, and summer planning profiles

Review and provide feedback on Common App, UC applications, personal statements, and supplemental essays

Assist in creating balanced and intentional college lists based on student goals and fit

Track student progress through regular check-ins, shared documents, and deadline management

Stay up to date on admissions trends, university requirements, and application best practices

Communicate effectively with students and families, offering support, encouragement, and clarity throughout the process

Collaborate with Cannon Academy’s lead counselors for training, case discussions, and quality review
